AFRICA AND ABANDONED THEME PARKS

AFRICA
1. What i saw while looking at Nick's pictures was a guy was devoted to getting amazing pictures of something he thought was amazing. These pictures are so incredible, you can see the lines and emotions on the animals faces, probably even guess what they're thinking. The closeness of the pictures is unreal, he was risking everything to make something of these animals to show the world what animals are like in their nature.

2.

3. This picture is of a lion doing his mighty roar, to me the lion is hungry and it's yelling for hunger or maybe the lion is a parent and is roaring to let the kids know to come. It's my favorite because it seems to me it'd be very hard to catch a lion roaring and get it from that angle where you can see the whole mouth and the eyes being closed. I love the element the lion is in and that theres so many possibilities of why the lion is roaring.

4. A rule in this photo would be simplicity because of the lion up against a background thats not distracting from the lion. Another rule could be framed because the lion is being framed by the clouds.

5. He uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses, it's important because you should know what camera to use when you want to get close up to your subject and capture everything you want to get in the picture.

6. His reason for taking these photos is that he wanted to capture the Wild Animals in their element, or has he said "the state of being", His feeling while taking the picture is that he and the animal are equal and it affects him while snapping the picture. These pictures represent the beauty of the world while the world is being vanished.

7. Nick hoped to have these animals be shown as beauty and make the world show that human and unhuman are equal.

8. "the vanishing natural grandeur of East Africa." -Nick Brandt

FUNNY OLD PEOPLE CAPTIONS

Bernie, Marty, Effie and Earl where sitting at the bus stop at the corner, while a couple of teenagers run past them on their skateboards blaring rap music. Listening to the lyrics closely Bernie has to cover his ears by the trauma he was listening too, Effie flipped them off to make a point for old people.

Betty went to HEB in her favorite yellow "i hate everyone" shirt that her grandson gave her for her 80th birthday, she needed to get some apples to make apple pie for thanksgiving.  Betty was thankful people got out of her way at the store because her shirt proved she didn't mess around.

Mae (swingset), Bertha, and Ida ran away from the old people home, so they decided to get a hint a youth back and be rascals by going to the playground. While at the playground, Bertha and Ida decided to catch up on some old people home gossip.

MURAL PROJECT

1. we could do a series of students in their own element at school, like walking to class while listening to music or secretly dancing in the hallway while no one is around or doing work in the library.

2. i like the phone idea but i also think it would be cool to use the cameras to mix it around and use both for fun and see how things turn out in the pictures.

3. The mural should be in the cafeteria so it could be seen or maybe in front of the library.

ACADEMIC SHOOT REFLECTION AND CRITIQUE

1. Challenges i had during this shoot was trying to get good enough shots of the kids performing and not making them all the same rule. I had to get other rules to fit into the performances that the kids were doing then trying to get pictures around the room was hard because so many objects were on the table getting in the way and changing the rule i was going to do.

2. framing was the hardest for me during the shoot, then trying to focus on the kids when the tables were in the way so i couldn't get closer to focus. I just tried to sit on a table to try and focus in and frame.

3. I would probably stand in different areas of the room to get different angles.

4. I would scout out for kids who would make the most emotions to put into the picture.

5. The rules that would be the easiest to achieve would be rule of thirds and leading lines.

6. The hardest would probably framing and simplicity.

7. I'm not totally clear on balance, i could take a bunch of pictures and pick out the ones that look like balance and see if the match up to the definition.

STEP 3: The students writing down, i like how you can see the emotion in their faces while they write. I also love the focus that's in the photos.

STEP 4: One thing that could of been improved was doing something else, because they all look the same with the subjects, like a student doing work sitting down.

ACADEMIC SHOOT

1. For this picture i followed the rule of thirds, because i wanted the guy to be to the side and in focus in rule of thirds.
2. The subject in the photo is the guy to the left side in the purple shirt with a little smile on his face.
3. Yes, because he's very in focus and takes up a lot of the picture.
4. People may think that it's the shoes but it's in the background so i guess i could of cropped it out.

1. This picture is simplicity because of the background and the simpleness of the girls lined up with different expressions on their faces, the background does't steal away.
2. The subject is the four girls standing in a row doing their slate for theatre.
3. yes it is clear because of the focus on the girls.
4. The subjects are a little blurry in some parts so i guess i could of focused more on them.

1. this photo is balanced because of the arrangement of the girls and their heads turned.
2. The subject is the girl in the blue t shit and the other girl in the tank top, one girl has an awkward face and the other is smiling.
3. I thin kit's clear because the two girls are in focused but there is a girl in the background who isn't in focus.
4. I could of tried to have gotten the picture without the third girl in the background so it wouldn't so weird.

1. This photo is a little of rule of thirds because of the two boys in the left corner but then also a little balance.
2. the subject is the three boys performing a pantomime, the one guy standing up in the blue shirt and the guy taking a pretend selfie and the one guy sitting down in the blue shirt.
3. yes it clear what the subject is.
4. In this picture you can really tell what the subject is.
