LOVE AND LOSS

1. As i worked my way through these photos i felt happy at first and in aw then i felt scared and sad on how the last of the pictures where going to be, wondering what was going to happen.

2. "These photographs do not define us, but they are us." Now that i have looked through these photos i feel as the comment means so much more. I think the comment is defiantly right, the emotions in the pictures don't define them as humans but it is who they are.

3. Honestly i don't think i could, because to me it would be too emotion to handle. At the end of it all i bet i would of wished i did though to remember the good times of it all.

4. I would write to him that these photos are inspiring and amazing, they tell his and his wife's story. These photos are something to proud about and to always look back and remember who they where together.

SPIRAL STAIRCASE (EXTRA CREDIT)

http://petapixel.com/2014/12/19/disorienting-beauty-spiral-staircases-old-abandoned-buildings/

On this website i looked at different spiral staircases which where all different some where circle, square, and sideways it looked like. When looking at these staircases i saw the rustic railings and the peeling paint from the bottom and sides. I saw the detailed design of the wood on some of the railings and the rods attached.

I learned a new way to take photos and that anything can be created into something really amazing with different angles.

a.     Why did you pick this photo? I picked this photo because of how the square is tilted to the side and you have to really look to follow the staircase from the bottom to the top. I also really liked how the rods attached to the railing looks brand new and white but the rest is all rustic.
b.     What rules of photography do you see in the photo? I see leading lines in this photo because of the stairs leading to the top and simplicity because of the background of the photo.
c.     Who took the photo? Christian Richter.

If you were directed to a site that you cannot answer any of the questions above, please do the following:
a.     What did you see on the website, describe it in 2-3 sentences? I saw
spiral staircases which where all different some where circle, square, and sideways it looked like. When looking at these staircases i saw the rustic railings and the peeling paint from the bottom and sides. I saw the detailed design of the wood on some of the railings and the rods attached.
b.     What did you learn? I learned even though the most simple things can be turned into the best photo just by the angle.
c.     How did the site relate to photography? It related to photography because this is what photography is, showing what people see that's different then what other people can see.

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY

1. In the first video her neck was made longer, and her eyes where moved a little bit down, her hair was smoothed out. The girls eyes where made bigger and so where her lips, and the face was a little bit pushed in, also her shoulders.

2. In the second video they made her neck longer and shoulders wider, and made her legs longer and changing her skin color. They also made her eyes a little bit bigger and tummy tucked her stomach then made her arms longer too. Her nostrils where made smaller.

3. In the third video the lady's short hair was made into longer hair, her shins where made to be skinny same with her thighs. It looks like the person smoothed out her skin from cellulite, her tummy was pushed in and her shoulders where widened.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Is it ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like these in a photo? Why or why not? I think it is okay but only a few small changed like smoothing out the skin mostly but not changing the whole appearance like making the neck longer or the eyes, or making the person skinner. It's not right to do that because that's what makes the person them, and people shouldn't be able to change that.

5. Are there circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation?

6. What types of changes are OK, and what aren't? Smoothing the skin out to looking better in the picture would be okay, but changing the person's body type is not okay, also making the eyes bigger or neck longer.

7. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism. Fashion photography is where you would only take portraits because it's of models for brands and company's, also where people do extreme photoshop to the models. With photojournalism people take pictures of anything and when people photoshop these pictures it's mainly cropping and changing the levels of the pictures and smoothing things out.

8. What relationship does each type of photography have to reality, and how does this affect the ethical practice of each? Each photography both fixes the reality by changing things from the original picture it affects it because people only see the changed picture, not the original so people don't know the reality of it.

9. Why do you think I am showing you these three videos? So we know what photoshop can really do and understand what fashion photography is and what it does.

10. Why are none of these videos about guys??? Maybe in the fashion world they're saying guys don't need to be photoshopped.

APERTURE, SHUTTER SPEED, AND ISO.

               F2.8
  F16

1. We should relate our pupils to the aperture, the smaller the aperture the more focused it is on an object and the background is blurred out, the bigger it is the background actually shows. Kind of like a pupils grow with less light but when you shine a light on them it shrinks down.

2.the smaller the Aperture size, the higher the Aperture number.

3. Aperture effects depth of field because of the size of the aperture, an f-small number makes the background blurred or blend with the main focus which would be sharpened to make it pop out. An f-big number opens up the lens more so the background is clear and sometimes there isn't a focus because of the background being clear.

SHUTTER SPEED:

high shutter speed

low shutter speed

a. low shutter speed

b. low shutter speed

c. high shutter speed

d. high shutter speed

e. low shutter speed

f. high shutter speed

ISO
2. The three camera settings for shutter speed are Manual, Shutter Priority, and Aperture priority. For Manual it's where you the photographer has to set the shutter speed and Aperture yourself to control the settings for the picture without the camera doing it automatically. Shutter Priority is where the camera sets the Aperture for you but you set the shutter speed. Aperture Priority is like Shutter Priority but switched, the shutter speed is automatically set but you set the aperture settings.

 ISO 200

 ISO 3200

1. The advantages of shooting at a high iso for any sporting event would be that, the higher iso would help smooth out the image and freeze it so the image won't be blurry.

2. Suggestions the author said for a lower iso was to use it for dark environments to help with lighting and to use the base iso mainly and often.

3. Suggestions the author said for the higher iso was to set it higher when theres not enough light for the picture, it's best used for motion pictures so the picture won't be blurry.

what happens?

Aperture settings: from 2.8-22 on this camera

Shutter speed settings: go from 1 second to 1/4000 of a second on this camera

ISO settings: 100- 25600 on this camera
